Your host had a great holiday in Cuba and was impressed not only by the beauty of the Island, but also by the very well educated young people encountered during my stay. All the young people I met spoke excellent English and were either aiming to go to University or were already studying at Uni.

Another striking feature of my visit was the Cuban health service, free to all citizens. Despite the lack of items in shops, every community has its own medical service. Cuba is currently helping some of the ‘poorer’ counties in South America setting up their own health service’s.

Historically KGS has been for many years involved in International/Global Education. Our Modern Languages and Art departments have worked closely with schools in Germany and Norway. More recently KGS has been involved in Comenius projects with schools in Germany and Spain while our junior students will soon enjoy yet another trip to Moena in Itlay.

It is hoped as advances in ICT continue, the creation of Blog pages, Podcasting and real time video conferencing, will provide students at KGS the opportunities to become truly Global Learners.
